Surgical Dermatology
Surgical procedures are performed in our office using local anesthetic. Patients are encouraged to eat a regular meal before their procedure. We do not ask patients to stop taking any blood thinning medications such as Coumadin or aspirin.
Skin cancer excision:
Basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma represent the most common forms of skin cancer. Most can be appropriately treated in our office by excising them completely. Occasionally, a patient is referred to another physician for treatment, particularly in the following cases: large, ill-defined tumors, especially those in cosmetically sensitive areas (eyelids, ears, lips, nose); and melanomas with invasive growth.
Additional Procedures:
- Elective mole removal
- Diagnostic mole removal
- Skin tag removal
- Lipoma excision
- Keloid excision
- Acne scar revision
- Earlobe repair surgery
